WHO WE ARE
Cassandra Rudge
Cassandra Rudge, co-founder of FoundFilms, is a passionate filmmaker who strives to create movies that resonate with her on a personal level. Her ultimate goal is to achieve equal representation in the film industry and media, drawing inspiration from her own experiences. As a single working mother, Cassandra knows how to make the most of her circumstances and forge her own path. She earned a degree in Media Management and Communications while raising her child, and went on to become an Event Executive with Quebec Leisure, handling major events such as the MTV Asia VJ Hunt and the Downtown East Millennium Countdown.
Cassandra's interest in presenting led her to become a voice-over professional and News Presenter on 938LIVE (now CNA938), where she honed her interviewing and writing skills. She interviewed a diverse range of people, including Michelin-starred chef Alain Roux and Nepalese social activist Anuradha Koirala. Cassandra's passion for movies led her to pursue acting, and she landed roles in two of Singapore's top-rated TV shows, Tanglin and KIN. Her most exciting role was as Sr. Gerard Fernandez, a Roman Catholic nun working as a death row counsellor, in the acclaimed short film Sister, directed by Chai Yee Wei.
Although Cassandra enjoyed acting, she wanted to become more involved in the creation of films, which led her to co-found FoundFilms with Aizuddin Nasser. Cassandra recently wrote, directed, produced, and acted in "Not Fair," a short film on Colourism, with Aizuddin. She is constantly pushing the boundaries of filmmaking as a female Singaporean and looks forward to winning an Oscar for Singapore in the future.
Her most recent project, Lockdown, is a short film that explores the theme of breaking free from inhibitions and living one's truth. The film has received rave reviews for its powerful storytelling and stunning visuals.
In addition to Lockdown, she has also created a web series called Not Fair, which was inspired by her earlier short film of the same name. The series has been supported by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and has garnered a loyal following for its honest and thought-provoking portrayal of issues related to equal representation and identity.
With a background in screenwriting, Cassandra brings a unique perspective to her work, and is passionate about using film as a medium to tell stories that matter. When she's not behind the camera, you can find her eating lots of chocolate and binging on reality TV shows. Connect with her on this website to stay up-to-date on her latest projects and collaborations.
